Quentin Tarantino: Xena is the show I always wish Charlie’s Angels was, Wonder Woman was… Xena has no apologies. Xena is a really cool show. It’s got cool characters.The action in it is a lot of fun. The scripts are really good. There’s really cool storytelling going on. The whole lineage of the story, the backstory of Xena’s character is quite magnificent. I mean, I would use the word ‘magnificent.’ There’s a lot there to be had. Xena turns over this new leaf, but it’s haunted, like Clint Eastwood in the Unforgiven. Haunted by her evil deeds … now she’s fighting for redemption, but she knows she doesn’t deserve redemption, she’ll never get redemption.

Interviewer: That seems very rare for a female character…

QT: That’s rare for a male character. That’s just good shit.
