Lucy Lawless, who portrayed the iconic warrior princess Xena, will play a potential love interest for Ron (Nick Offerman) on NBC’s Parks and Recreation this fall. Lawless, who is also a star of Starz’s Spartacus series, will appear in two episodes beginning Oct. 4. Parks and Recreation showrunner Michael Schur, responding to criticisms that Ann is not as quirky and well-defined as everyone else (via Vulture)
Okay, but could she maybe have an actual storyline? Maybe? Or romantic relationship pursuits that aren’t “you wore me down” and no takesies backsies when you’re sober? Just some suggestions.

The whole design of the yin and yang of Leslie and Ann as best friends is that Ann is going to keep Leslie from spinning off into crazy town and Leslie is going to push Ann to be a more interesting person.
This design stopped functioning when the ying got together with Ben and the yang HAS NO MORE PLOT. They didn’t even explore her working in that weird job they made up for her so she can hang out at the government building legitimately.

As the race for city council comes close to an end, Leslie Knope fears for her safety. She loves Ben with all her heart, but even she knows his tiny biceps won’t be enough to protect them from angry Bobby Newport loyalists. Newport’s leave from the race has been the cause of several riots around town.
“We were promised sweets! And lots of them! [Newport] said he would give us bars of sugar if we gave him our votes!” - Man with smelly dog, at the latest riot outside the Sweetums factory (source: The Pawnee Journal, Pawnee’s own Washington Post).
Leslie and Ben decide that maybe hiring a professional bodyguard might be the way to go. Her current bodyguard is former Parks Department shoeshiner, Andy Dwyer (not only a danger to those around him, but also a danger to himself).
Trained by the FBI and left for dead atop the Himalayas, Claire Lane has seen it all. Is Claire the right choice? Can she protect the Deputy Director of the Pawnee City Department of Parks and Recreation? Will she be able to ignore the weird stares from Ms. Knope’s boyfriend, Mr. Ben Wyatt (who thinks she’s the actress who plays the evil but fabulous queen on his favorite TV series)? Will Claire build up the courage to ask out Ms. Knope’s best friend, beautiful nurse Ann Perkins, on a coffee date? Will all these ridiculous questions be answered in the next episode? I honestly… don’t know.
